It's 'Your' Wedding, Your Special Day.
The
type of wedding ceremony you choose to have will be a reflection of your
beliefs and values as a couple. The
choice is yours and Maris is here to help you decide what works best for
you.For some people the traditional ceremony is the only type that will do. Others may like to hark back to bygone times with a Pagan Ceremony, a Hand Fasting or a Historic Ceremony. Combinations are also possible, why not mix and match? Vale Ceremonies custom design each and every ceremony - just for you.
Maris of Vale Ceremonies and his wife Leanne were married in 2000 in a dual language ceremony - English & Latvian. The English sections to honour Leannes Scottish heritage as well as their joint Australian Heritage and Latvian as Maris, while born in Australia, is a Latvian Australian.
It is this diversity within their relationship that makes Maris confident he can provide you with the civil wedding ceremony you are looking for.
"I'll make sure you are as happy as we were in 2000"
Recognising your day, your way - A Commitment Ceremony

The commitment ceremony satisfies a number of needs. You may be a couple who intend to marry in the future, but wish to celebrate early for various reasons, or you may be a couple who because of religious or legal complications can not go through the usual form of marriage. Some intellectually disabled couples choose this option as a 'trial run'.
Yet again there are couples of the same gender whose commitment is as strong as any other couple, who wish to celebrate their relationship by adding a further ceremonial stage, and by including family and friends in the ceremony.
Maris of Vale Ceremonies offers a wide range of choices to people who desire a commitment ceremony.
For a Commitment Ceremony in Australia
The rules for your commitment ceremony are: There are no rules. Write your own or we can write one for you
The content and style of every commitment ceremony can be different, and tailored to your specific wants and needs. Your ceremony can be as traditional and formal, or as relaxed and unstructured as you like. You can include religious elements, favourite songs, and poetry if you like … the sky is the limit.
Unfortunately, at the present time, Australia does not recognise same gender marriages as legal and as such any civil celebrant you says they can 'legally' marry you in Australia is giving you bad advice.
Maris, however, will happily officiate at your commitment ceremony as well as provide you with a lovely calligraphied 'Certificate of Commitment'
"Your
Commitment Ceremony will be remembered in our hearts."
A Ceremony For Your New Addition - It's a Special Occasion for Everyone
A Naming Ceremony
is a very special way of celebrating your child's birth and welcoming
the new arrival into the family. It is also an opportunity to declare,
before family and friends, your promise to be as good a parent as you
can.
A Naming Ceremony is, in every sense, a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved and to offer their support in your child's future development.
Our Naming Ceremonies are specially written by Maris in consultation with you, guaranteeing that your Naming Ceremony is unique and has a special meaning to your family.
The Ceremony will give the opportunity for Parents, Older Brothers & Sisters, Grandparents and Supporting Adults to make promises to the child. It may include poems and readings. You may wish to present your child with a gift to mark the occasion, and at the conclusion of each ceremony you will be given a personal record.
A Naming Ceremony is something that you, as parents, choose to do as a public gesture of love and commitment to your child. Unlike a Birth Certificate, which is a compulsory legal document, the Record of the Ceremony cannot be used as proof of identification. Neither is the ceremony legally binding on those who take part in it.

The Renewal of Vows is also known as a Re-Affirmation Ceremony. You may have considerable history to your relationship by the time you decide to renew your vows. There may be children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren that you wish to include in your renewal ceremony.
In crafting your ceremony Maris will take great care to reflect the journey that you have been on since you met and committed to one another. You can also include your hopes for the future as a couple or as a family.
In making vows you may choose to re affirm your original vows. Or, re write your vows in celebration of who you are as a couple at present, and who you wish to be in the future.
A Vale Ceremonies Renewal of Vows or Reaffirmation Ceremony includes a commemorative certificate designed in the style of your original marriage certificate if you wish*. This can be signed by two witnesses at the event. Unlike legal marriage, people of any age even children can be the signatories at this ceremony.
Your Renewal of Vows ceremony can be formatted similarly to a wedding ceremony or can have a structure that is as unique as you are. You may wish to renew your vows as a celebration of the evolution of your relationship, or as a ceremony for people who were unable to attend your wedding. Whatever the reason, vow renewal ceremonies are a marvelous way to deepen your commitment to each another.
